About us

The Manthan School Debate Club started in 2017 through the aspirations of a
young Manthanite who wanted students in her school to have access to a safe
platform where they could voice their opinions and learn to develop a love for
debating. And then, through the passion and hard work for many others, the
debate club grew from a club of five to a robust organisation of 30 students
spanning across five different grades.

Through this club, we hope to teach students the increasingly relevant
skills of public speaking and critical thinking – so that they may become both
intelligent and confident orators. We will be covering a wide variety of
exercises to improve their speaking and diction, help them build a solid
general-knowledge base and help them make strategic and well-constructed
arguments. Most importantly, the debate club aims to build a community of
passionate and hardworking students that have a deep understanding of issues
from around the world, and care to emphatise with people of differing
perspectives.

In that vein, this blog is made to publish and celebrate the amazing work
our club’s members produce. From articles, to debate videos or memes, this site
is meant to be a platform to proudly display all the wonderful work our
students create. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
